Enter monthly basic pay plus DA, HRA received and rent. Choose the applicable metro classification for the scenario; monthly figures are annualised before comparing limits.
How the estimate is calculated
The model takes the least of HRA received, rent less 10% of basic, and 50% of basic for metro or 40% for non-metro. Negative rent excess is treated as zero.
Assumptions and exclusions
Eligibility, qualifying salary, rent evidence, location classification and tax-regime rules must be checked. This tool does not verify a claim or file a return.
